Heavy equipment arrives at the site just prior to the January 31 ceremony that was held for the Golden Nugget 2009. Although the backhoes have yet to move in, the dissection has begun on the exterior south side wall. |

The last of the track and mine cars have been set aside and will soon make their way to Knoebels. |

| Evidence of a recent snowfall remains on the Nugget as the work begins. In the first days of asbestos removal wooden studs could be seen protruding from the south wall of the Nugget. Photos were taken February 4th, 2009. |

It appears this will be a time staking removal as the asbestos laden outer shell is slowly picked away from the Nugget frame. This group of photos was taken on February 9th, 2009. |
