For me the next best thing to Mack's Pizza is their logo. Since I was a kid I've always associated the logo with the Keystone Kops ride on Hunt's Pier. ( The cartoon-like shape of the hand and the oversized cuff and button are reminiscent of the characters from the ride...)

The Keystone Pizza Maker shown to the right is one of the characters featured in my line of collectibles.

The concept for the logo design came from a man named Dennis Grant. In the 1960's Dennis started a local paper called "The Shout" which covered all that was happening on the island, especially in the nightclubs and on the Boardwalk. Dennis was a big promoter of Mack's Pizza and a friend of the family so every week he would include a small write up or ad for one of their stores, but he always pushed for the Mack's to do a larger full-page advertisement. Eventually Duke told Dennis if he came up with something that could really grab him he would go for the large ad. A few days later Dennis returned to Duke with the logo design that became the image synonymous with Mack's Pizza and remains unchanged to this day.

The two page fold out ad is pictured below.

The following is an assortment of ads that ran in Dennis Grant's "SHOUT".
